Golf Shop Merchandiser (Soft Goods)
Summary: The Golf Shop Merchandiser supports Golf Operations leadership in the day-to-day management of the golf shop. This role is responsible for merchandise ordering, receiving, and presentation; maintaining a polished and well‑organized retail environment; and contributing to initiatives that drive sales and profitability. The position also assists with monitoring and coordinating daily play in partnership with the starter team.
Reporting directly to the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support the planning and direction of soft goods retail operations, including meeting with sales representatives and placing merchandise orders
Design and execute visually appealing merchandise displays to enhance the retail environment and drive sales
Receive, inspect, tag, and prepare merchandise for display; ensure packing slips align with purchase orders
Plan, coordinate, and execute retail promotions and sales initiatives
Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and inventory management processes
Provide exceptional customer service on the retail floor and over the phone
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date vendor files
Receive and process deliveries from carriers such as UPS and FedEx
Train Golf staff on retail sales techniques, product knowledge, and applicable warranties
Support Golf Operations with daily activities including player check‑in, tee time management, lesson bookings, and opening/closing procedures
Assist with leagues and tournaments, including sourcing and purchasing prizes for events
Communicate effectively and professionally with members, guests, team members, and management
Adhere to all club policies, procedures, and standards
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects positively on Bear Lakes Country Club
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Golf Operations
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 1–3 years of related experience; or an associate degree with 3–5 years of related experience; or 5+ years of relevant experience in golf, retail, or merchandising environments.
Outside Golf Operations Supervisor
Summary: Oversee daily outside golf operations, ensuring that hospitality services meet the highest standards of guest satisfaction. You will play a crucial role in managing staff, coordinating events, and enhancing the overall guest experience at the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement various training programs for the outside service staff to ensure they are well‑trained, achieving Service Excellence, and enhancing Member/Guest satisfaction and retention.
Assist in leading the Outside Golf Operations Employees, including training, supervision, and daily leadership.
Assist golfers by loading bags, cleaning clubs, and preparing them for play, ensuring all needs are met and questions answered. Offer suggestions on proper golf course etiquette.
Clean and maintain the staging area, storage area, and golf cart fleet.
Marshal carts in the staging area and assign them to players; ensure golf carts are tracked and verified when rented.
Assist golfers after their round by cleaning clubs, delivering them to cars as needed, and checking in the golf carts.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the club storage, cart, and equipment areas.
Keep practice areas set up and continually supplied (e.g., range balls) for daily use; coordinate services with other golf operations staff to ensure seamless service to Members/Guests.
Serve as a role model to all employees by demonstrating the expected behavior and work ethic.
Perform other duties as assigned or required by the Outside Golf Operations Manager.
Education and/or Experience
• Associate degree (A.A.) or bachelor’s degree (B.A.) plus two to four years related experience and/or training.
Golf Operations Attendant (Full Time)
Summary: Provides complete services for members and guests relating to the handling of bags, golf carts, and driving range operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform all duties according to the daily procedures set by the Golf Department.
Prepare all golf carts for the day’s play. Ensure carts are clean and stocked.
Maintain cart storage building and surrounding areas in a neat, organized manner.
Monitor areas periodically throughout the day to ensure they are neat and orderly.
Obtain a daily starting sheet and lesson sheet for the day’s activity.
Set up all groups & lessons one hour in advance.
Clean carts upon completion of play and place them on charge if they are not to be used again that day.
Rotate each golf cart as designated by the golf cart mechanic.
Wash clubs upon completion of play and put them in the proper place.
Pick up balls from the driving range and collect trash to ensure neatness and cleanliness.
Assist in all special events of the Golf Department.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires some knowledge of the game of golf.
Previous country club experience preferred.
Mobility to carry and lift golf bags above the head weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to remain on one’s feet and work in outdoor conditions for long periods.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; and one to three months related experience and/or training.
Assistant Golf Professional / Ladies Golf Coordinator
Summary: Ensure members and guest golfers receive exceptional service with all their golfing needs, including merchandise, tournaments, check‑in, club‑fitting, instruction, cart & club rental, and other day‑to‑day operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf Operations and First Assistant Golf Professional in maintaining tee times, advanced bookings, committee meetings, Member/Guest programs, and instruction.
Collaborate with the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional to organize and run golf leagues, including ladies leagues and seasonal ladies events.
Assist in the set‑up and run of club tournaments for the entire golf membership.
Work with the Director of Instruction on establishing regular ladies clinics, golf school, and one‑on‑one instructional settings.
Create and develop a productive staff that monitors pace of play on both courses while communicating with members, rangers and starters.
Ensure that members and guests have an enjoyable time while on the golf course and enforce security protocols for members and guests.
Manage staff responsibilities: update daily checklists, software, scheduling, payroll, and conduct meetings.
Investigate and resolve complaints of membership.
Assist in the development of golf revenues.
Management of the member handicap program.
Responsible for both golf courses and practice facility direct supervision of hazards, out‑of‑bounds, maintenance, tee times, pace of play, and practice tee rotation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High golf knowledge of the game, etiquette, handicapping, rules, tournaments, and teaching.
Knowledge of tournament preparations and procedures.
Excellent communication skills and time management skills.
Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A.A.) or bachelor’s degree from four‑year college or university; and one to two years (including internships) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires strong knowledge of USGA & PGA programs and eligibility to participate in the PGA Golf Professional Training Program.
Strong playing and teaching background.
Food and Beverage – Busser (Part‑time, Seasonal)
Summary: Attends to the needs of members and guests, serves patrons by setting tables, placing and replacing silverware, keeping beverage glasses full, adhering to sanitation and safety policies, and clearing and cleaning tables, chairs, and the environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare the dining room for patrons by cleaning and setting up tables with decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
Maintain menu presentation by keeping menus clean and replacing damaged or soiled pages.
Maintain table settings by removing courses as they are completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
Support wait staff by setting up and replenishing condiment stands, trash containers, and bus stations.
Close dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables; sweeping and/or vacuuming floors; removing trash and recyclables from the facility.
Check tables frequently to determine if diners have any needs or requests, including drink refills, additional bread and butter, desserts, coffee, etc.
Assist other servers and bussers to ensure that all diners have an excellent dining experience.
Additional duties as assigned.

Golf Course Maintenance Operator
Summary: This position performs a variety of golf course maintenance duties independently under indirect supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate all hand‑held landscape equipment in various golf course maintenance procedures.
Operate utility vehicles.
Hand and mechanical rake bunkers to Bear Lakes Country Club golf course standards.
Golf course set‑up – properly align and tee markers, fill divots, and ensure member receptacles are clean.
Debris cleanup and rubbish removal to present a clean course to members and guests.
Range tee set‑up – clean divots for neatness, followed by filling divots with sand for turf recovery.
Sod installation.
Operate self‑propelled walking mowers on greens and tees.
Operate and maintain equipment, power tools, and hand tools to keep the golf course.
Verti‑cut, aerate, and top‑dress tees, greens, fairways, and other turf areas—lay sod as required.
Water golf course grounds and maintain irrigation systems on golf courses.
Communicate with members, co‑workers, management, and the general public courteously and professionally.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be proficient in all areas of golf course equipment maintenance.
Must be able to operate all equipment.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to work for extended periods in the heat.

Dishwasher
Summary: Maintain kitchen work areas, restaurant equipment, utensils, dishes, and glassware in clean and orderly condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the sanitary conditions of all items and that all Health Department standards are met.
Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor to the dishwashing machine.
Wash dishes, silverware, glassware, kitchen equipment, and other related items (tables, floors, ovens, dishwashers, pots, pans, and trays).
Segregate and remove trash and garbage, and place it in designated containers.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Cook
Summary: Cooks and seasons soups, meats, vegetables, and other food for members and guests in the club restaurants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read the menu to estimate food requirements and procure food from storage.
Measure and mix ingredients according to the recipe to prepare soups, salads, gravies, sauces, and casseroles.
Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
Add seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking.
Observe and test foods by tasting, smelling, and piercing with a fork to determine if they are cooked.
Carve meats, portion food on serving plates, add gravies and sauces, and garnish servings to fill orders.
Prepare food to members' satisfaction as quickly as possible.
Set up the work station to ensure freshness and quality.
Assist in other kitchen duties as necessary for the success of the operation.
Break down and clean the work station at the end of service.
