About Wee Burn Country Club Founded in 1896, Wee Burn Country Club is one of Connecticut’s oldest and most respected private clubs. The 18-hole championship course was designed by noted architect Devereux Emmet and is currently ranked as the 5th best course in the state. Today the club features premier golf, racquets, beach, dining, and recreational facilities, all maintained to exceptional standards. Position Summary Wee Burn Country Club is seeking a motivated Assistant-in-Training to join our golf course maintenance and grounds team. The AIT will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendents and will be an integral part of the management team. This role offers hands‑on involvement in all areas of agronomy, including daily maintenance practices, construction and renovation projects, staff coordination, and both short- and long‑term planning. Our goal is to provide the training and experience needed to prepare you for a successful future career as a Superintendent or Director of Agronomy. Responsibilities Assist with daily golf course maintenance: mowing, watering, bunker care, course set up and scouting Support fertilizer and pesticide handling, calibration, application, and record keeping Operate a variety of turf equipment, including mowers, rollers, and aerifiers Participate in seasonal projects, renovations, and improvement initiatives Participate in irrigation inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs Help ensure high standards of course conditioning, safety, and professionalism
Salary: USD 800 - 1400 per month
