Responsibilities Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain a clean and organized workspace Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools Follow strict food safety standards in handling ingredients and maintaining sanitation throughout the kitchen Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and coordination during food prep and service Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment through regular cleaning of surfaces, floors, and storage areas Requirements Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable Knowledge of food preparation techniques, and culinary practices Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively Strong understanding of food safety management and proper food handling procedures Experience with cleaning protocols in a food service or restaurant setting Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation standards Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff Basic knife skills including slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep Prior catering or restaurant experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential This role is paid and offers an excellent opportunity for those looking to build foundational skills in the food industry while working in a supportive environment.
