Duties
Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination
Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients following established recipes and safety guidelines
Support meal assembly and presentation by organizing ingredients and plating dishes when needed
Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed in accordance with food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas regularly
Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock shortages
Support catering events or special meal services by preparing ingredients or assisting with setup and cleanup
Qualifications
Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
Basic knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation practices in a kitchen environment
Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, or serving in a restaurant or food service setting is advantageous
Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques are desirable
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
