About Concord Country Club West Chester, PA | Established in 1927, Concord Country Club has become one of the premier private country clubs in the greater Philadelphia region. Situated on more than 190 acres in the picturesque Brandywine Valley, the Club offers a William Flynn-designed championship golf course, outstanding dining and social facilities, an active racquets program, aquatics complex, and vibrant family programming that serve more than 500 member families. Recent investments exceeding $4 million have modernized the clubhouse while preserving its traditional character. Early in 2027, the Club will begin an internally funded $1.5 million project that will expand the locker rooms while creating a new adult grille featuring golf simulators, expanded bar service, and casual gathering spaces. In 2028, the Club will begin a $3.5 million golf course irrigation system expansion and modernization project. The Opportunity Concord Country Club is seeking an accomplished, visionary General Manager & Chief Operating Officer to lead one of the Philadelphia region’s premier family-oriented private clubs. As Concord approaches its Centennial celebration in 2027, the Club is exceptionally well positioned for its next era of success. The Club enjoys a full golf membership, a four-year waiting list for full golf privileges, strong financial performance, engaged membership, and an ambitious Long-Range Strategic Vision supported by the Board of Directors. The successful candidate will partner closely with an engaged Board while leading a talented management team in delivering exceptional member experiences, developing employees, executing strategic initiatives, and preserving the traditions that have made Concord one of the region’s most respected private clubs. Our food and beverage operations are open 12 months a year for members with reduced winter hours. Banquets and private events can take place year-round. Position Overview Title: General Manager & Chief Operating Officer Reports to: Board of Directors Supervises: Grounds Superintendent, Golf Professional, Executive Chef, Food & Beverage Managers, Restaurant Manager, Facilities Director, Capital Projects Director, Events Director, Membership & Marketing Director, Racquets Professional, Aquatics Director Manager and Controller Position Description: The General Manager/COO has full responsibility for all aspects of Club operations, financial performance, strategic execution, personnel management, and member satisfaction while serving as the Board’s trusted advisor on operational and strategic matters. Essential Job Functions Leadership Lead a high-performing management team.Foster accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain exceptional staff.Maintain a highly visible leadership presence throughout the Club. Member Experience Deliver exceptional service across every Club operation.Maintain strong relationships with members through open communication and visibility.Continuously evaluate member feedback and implement meaningful improvements.Ensure all programming reflects Concord’s family-oriented culture. Strategic Leadership Execute the Board’s Long-Range Strategic Vision.Advise the Board regarding future capital investments and operational initiatives.Lead organizational change while preserving Club traditions.Represent the Club throughout the community and industry. Financial Management Develop and administer annual operating and capital budgets.Maintain strong financial performance using industry benchmarking and best practices.Oversee forecasting, cash management, capital planning, and financial reporting.Identify new revenue opportunities while protecting member value. Club Operations Ensure operational excellence across all departments.Establish policies and procedures supporting consistent service quality.Maintain Club facilities to the highest standards. Success in the First Two Years Build trusted relationships with members, employees, and the Board.Successfully oversee Concord’s Centennial Celebration.Support the completion of the Strategic Vision capital projects.Maintain exceptional member satisfaction.Strengthen management accountability and employee development.Deliver annual operating and capital budgets. Experience And Qualifications Including, but not limited to, the following: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.Minimum of ten years of senior leadership experience in a private club, hospitality, or comparable organization.Comprehensive knowledge of club operations, finance, food & beverage, membership, marketing, human resources, and capital planning.Strong financial acumen and strategic planning experience.Outstanding leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.Certified Club Manager (CCM) desirable Compensation And Benefits The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
