ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT IN TRAINING

Overview The assistant golf course superintendent in training (AIT) will be involved in all aspects of the golf course maintenance operation. The position is intended to develop the individual for a role as an assistant golf course superintendent and a career in golf course maintenance. The AIT will work directly with the golf course superintendent or assistant superintendent in the management of the golf course. This position is a hands-on role that is expected to learn and develop while working on the course. Responsibilities Assist in all aspects of maintaining the golf course Become proficient in all basic maintenance activities Perform pesticide and fertilizer applications Schedule irrigation events Work with the Superintendent to execute the agronomic plan for the course and monitor progress Identify agronomic problems, suggest and implement solutions Identify problem areas on the course and suggest and implement improvements Actively seek educational opportunities to improve and enhance work performance Learn and develop skills needed to progress in golf course management industry Weekend shifts - tournaments and every third weekend through year Attention to detail and teamwork Snow removal when necessary Qualifications A minimum of one year of golf course maintenance experience Positive attitude, hard working with a goal of developing into a leader and career in golf course management Compensation $21.50/hr plus overtime for any hours worked over forty per week All other benefits commensurate with a full-time employee at FCC to include: Association dues paid, uniforms provided, lunches provided, educational opportunities provided Eligibility for medical, dental and vision insurance plans Eligibility for Club sponsored 401K retirement plan Seniority level Internship Employment type Full-time Job function Other Industries Hospitality Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Farmington Country Club by 2x Get notified about new Assistant Golf Course Superintendent jobs in Charlottesville, VA. #J-18808-Ljbffr
