OVERVIEW: The Head of Racquet Sports Maintenance is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and overall operational integrity of all racquet sports facilities, including tennis courts, pickleball courts, and related infrastructure at Boca West Country Club. This role ensures the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics are maintained to deliver exceptional experience for club members and guests. The ideal candidate possesses extensive technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining premium athletic facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facility Maintenance & Management:
Coordinate repairs and upgrades involving court surfaces, nets, lighting, fencing, and related equipment.
Staff Leadership & Development:
Lead, supervise, and train a team of maintenance technicians and groundskeepers dedicated to racquet sports facilities.
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Schedule work assignments to ensure efficient coverage and minimal disruption to club operations.
Vendor & Contractor Relations:
Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers for specialized maintenance services and equipment procurement.
Oversee contracted services, ensuring quality standards and adherence to budget and timelines.
Budget & Inventory Management:
Prepare and manage the departmental budget, including labor, materials, and equipment expenses.
Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety training for staff.
Member Experience & Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with the Tennis & Racquet Sports Director to ensure courts meet the club’s standards for quality and aesthetics.
Respond promptly to member concerns or reports related to court conditions.
Innovation & Improvement:
Stay informed about advancements in court surface technology, maintenance techniques, and best practices.
Recommend and implement improvements to enhance facility durability, safety, and member satisfaction.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Sports Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, with a focus on sports or recreational courts preferred.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Strong technical knowledge of court surface materials (asphalt, concrete, synthetic), lighting systems, fencing, and related infrastructure.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance related to sports facility maintenance.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
