Position Summary
As a Banquet Cook, you will play a key role in preparing and executing food for events ranging from intimate dinners to large-scale functions. This position requires urgency, consistency, organization, and the ability to perform under service timelines.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare hot and cold food items for banquet events, buffets, receptions, and plated meals
Assist with production for weddings, tournaments, brunches, holiday events, and member functions
Execute recipes and menu items according to chef specifications
Maintain organized stations, prep areas, and storage spaces
Support buffet setup, replenishment, and event execution as needed
Ensure food is cooked, held, and presented to quality standards
Follow sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety procedures
Assist with breakdown, cleaning, and proper storage after events
Work closely with chefs, stewards, and front-of-house teams to ensure successful events
Qualifications
Prior experience in banquet, catering, restaurant, hotel, club, or high-volume kitchen preferred
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Dependable attendance and punctuality required
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies/equipment as needed
Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak event periods
Culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus
Preferred Experience
Buffet and plated banquet service
High-volume prep production
Knife skills and station organization
Experience with private clubs, resorts, hotels, or event venues
