The 46,000 square‑foot Athletic Center located off South Bonnie Brae Street is the centerpiece of North Texas athletics. Athletics strives to conduct a competitive athletics program that promotes faculty, staff, student and community affiliation and participation with the North Texas Athletics. Provide facilities which attract the highest level of talent and allow student‑athletes to perform at the highest level in practice and during competition.Position Overview The Assistant Men’s Golf Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the men’s golf program, including training, recruiting, and student‑athlete development. This role is responsible for helping create a positive, competitive, and growth‑oriented environment for student‑athletes while ensuring compliance with department, UNT, and conference regulations.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in related sport; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThorough knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations.Preferred Qualifications Master’s DegreeExperience coaching at Division I levelJob Duties Assist in planning and conducting practice and training sessions.Support competition preparation, strategy, and in‑contest coaching direction.Provide technical instruction to enhance athlete performance and skill development.Assist with recruiting efforts, including identifying and evaluating prospective student‑athletes.Assist with monitoring academic progress and adherence to Academic Support policies and procedures.Works with Athletics sports medicine and strength and conditioning personnel, and with physicians as needed to implement team wellness and conditioning programs.Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations and complies with the same.Ensure adherence to all conference, institutional, and NCAA rules and regulations.Commitment to fostering a culture aligned with UNT Athletics’ mission of Building Champions and Preparing Leaders.Physical Requirements Communicating with others to exchange information.Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.Environmental HazardsNoisy environments.Low temperatures.Elevated temperatures.Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.Work ScheduleVaries based on segment of the competition season.Driving University VehicleYesSecurity SensitiveThis is a Security Sensitive Position.Special InstructionsApplicants must submit a minimum of two professional references as part of their application.
