Job Purpose
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of onsite equipment. Maintenance Mechanics contribute to the overall upkeep of mechanical and electrical equipment such as motors, compressors, and circuits. Under limited supervision, Maintenance Mechanics often partner with the General Manager to communicate issues and help budget for upcoming expenses to the course.
Responsibilities
Maintain operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, and tools following operations manuals and manufacturer's instructionsAssist clubhouse maintenance and cart mechanic with fabrications and adjustments as neededMaintain equipment, parts and supply inventories by checking stock inventories, anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receiptProvide mechanical maintenance reports by maintaining documentation of repairs and parts orderingProvide information and training on proper use and maintenance of equipment by communicating with co-workersOversee shop area maintenance by ensuring that shop remains clean and orderly and that tools are kept clean and in proper working conditionEnsure operational success by obtaining event information from all departments to meet special maintenance requirements and requestsResolve escalated maintenance issuesTrain, direct, and evaluate the work of other Maintenance Mechanics as directedOrder equipment and supplies as needed and approved by managementMaintain good working relationships with vendors and vendor mechanicsPerform fabrications when routine problem solving has not proven effectiveEnsure warranty requirements are processedMaintain familiarity with all safety programsImplement and support all American Golf initiatives and programs as requested by managementOther duties may be assigned by management.Education
High School diploma required (Specialty/Technical Training preferred) and 2 years of related experience in reel grinding, small engine repair, welding, electrical, carpentry, or equivalent combination of educations and experienceWorking Conditions
Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, or sharp objects.
