With an active membership and a commitment to elevating course conditions, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Golf Course Mechanic to maintain our equipment fleet and support the success of the agronomy team.
Position Overview
The Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and preventative care of all turf equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our machinery is safe, efficient, and ready to meet daily operational needs. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and experienced with diesel, gasoline, hydraulics, electrical systems, and reel grinding.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, and small engines.Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.Sharpen, grind, and adjust reels, bedknives, and rotary blades to maintain high-quality cuts.Maintain and organize shop area, parts inventory, and service records.Assist in fleet management planning, including equipment replacement needs.Ensure all equipment is compliant with safety standards and operating procedures.Train staff on proper operation and basic daily maintenance of equipment.Oversee fuel systems, including monitoring fuel levels and maintaining fuel logs.Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.Support winter projects, including equipment overhauls and refurbishments.Qualifications
2–5 years of mechanical experience, preferably in golf, turf, agriculture, or related fields.Experience with reel grinding and cutting unit setup strongly preferred.Knowledge of small engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics.Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical tasks in a shop or outdoor environment.Valid driver’s license required.Compensation & Benefits
