Assistant Superintendent

About the position As a key member of the property’s golf course maintenance team, the Assistant\nSuperintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists\nwith the day-to-day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the\ngolf course and adjacent grounds, including but not limited to the clubhouse\nlandscaping and maintenance complex.\n\nCompensation: \$50,000-\$60,000 Responsibilities Supervises and trains foreman, irrigations technician and other employees in\n the maintenance departmentPrepares weekly schedules for foreman, irrigations staff and other employees\n in the maintenance departmentMonitors inventory of all maintenance equipment and the use of the equipment,\n preventative maintenance schedule, and safety trainingWorks closely with Superintendent in managing annual budget and maintenance\n recordkeepingWorks closely with Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term\n agronomic strategies to maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly\n and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedulesCalibrates and operates pesticide sprayersInstitute and implement all Troon Human Resources guidelinesAssists Superintendent in informing members about present and future\n maintenance activitiesPerform other duties as assigned by supervisor or managerRequirements 3+ years of turf grass management experience preferredSupervisory experience requiredA four-year college degree preferred, but not requiredGCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of budgeting and expense managementMust possess basic computer skills – Word and ExcelMust have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf businessMust be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detailMust have exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsMust Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
