About the position
The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to manage\nall aspects of the golf course and facility grounds. This will include, but is\nnot limited to, crew management, leading monthly safety meetings,\npesticide/fertilizer applications, irrigation repair, drainage installation,\ndaily course set up, and building maintenance.
Responsibilities
Supervises and trains foreman, irrigations technician and other employees in\n the maintenance departmentPrepares weekly schedules for foreman, irrigations staff and other employees\n in the maintenance departmentMonitors inventory of all maintenance equipment and the use of the equipment,\n preventative maintenance schedule, and safety trainingWorks closely with Superintendent in managing annual budget and maintenance\n recordkeepingWorks closely with Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term\n agronomic strategies to maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly\n and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedulesCalibrates and operates pesticide sprayersInstitute and implement all Indigo Golf Partners Human Resources guidelinesAssists Superintendent in informing members about present and future\n maintenance activitiesRequirements
1-3 years turf grass management2+ years of golf course experience requiredIndiana Pesticide license required within 6 monthsSupervisory experience preferred2 or 4 year turf degree preferred, but not requiredGCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of budgeting and expense managementMust possess basic computer skills – Word and ExcelMust have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf businessMust be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detailMust have exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsMust Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
