About the Role

Youth Golf Camp Coach – Fall & Winter Programs

The Back Nine Golf – Grand Haven, MI

Part-Time | Approximately 2 Hours Per Week

The Opportunity

The Back Nine Golf – Grand Haven has an immediate need for an enthusiastic Youth Golf Camp Coach to lead our fall and winter junior golf programs.

This is a unique, highly flexible opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young golfers and wants the autonomy to build and run a youth golf program without the limitations of Michigan weather.

Our camps are designed to help young golfers learn the game, improve their skills and have fun in an engaging indoor environment.

The commitment is approximately 2 hours per week during each camp season, making this an ideal opportunity for a golf professional, coach, college golfer, former collegiate golfer, teacher, or experienced player looking to stay involved in the game.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take ownership of our fall and winter youth camps, including:

Lead approximately 2 hours of youth golf programming each week

Plan and run engaging weekly practices and activities

Teach golf fundamentals including full swing, short game, putting, course management and basic golf etiquette

Create programming appropriate for different ages and skill levels

Use games, competitions and challenges to keep kids engaged

Help developing golfers build confidence and a love for the game

Provide instruction and feedback appropriate to each golfer’s ability

Have the freedom to develop and evolve the program throughout the season

Your Facility

You’ll have access to The Back Nine Grand Haven’s indoor golf facility and technology to build the program around, including:

Full Swing Pro 2.0 Simulators
The same Full Swing technology trusted by many of the best players in the world. Coaches can use real ball-flight data, practice ranges, skills challenges and simulated golf courses to create engaging instruction throughout the winter.

Wellputt Putting Surface
A dedicated putting area that allows campers to work on putting fundamentals, distance control, alignment and competitive putting games.

Year-Round Indoor Environment
No weather cancellations, no shortened practices and no Michigan winter standing between the kids and golf.

Who We’re Looking For

We care more about your ability to teach, connect with kids and create a great golf experience than we do about a specific title or certification.

Strong candidates could include:

Golf teaching professionals

PGA or LPGA Professionals or Associates

Current or former collegiate golfers

High school or junior golf coaches

First Tee or other youth golf instructors

Teachers or educators with a strong golf background

Experienced golfers with a passion for developing young players

Previous experience working with youth is strongly preferred.

What Makes This Different

This isn’t a position where we’ll hand you a script and ask you to follow it.

We’ll provide the facility, technology, equipment and support. We’re looking for the right coach to bring the golf knowledge, energy and ideas.

You’ll have significant autonomy to determine how the camps are structured, what the kids work on and how we make the program better throughout the fall and winter.

Our goal is simple:

Create a program kids can’t wait to come back to each week — while helping them become better golfers.

Schedule

Approximately 2 hours per week during scheduled fall and winter youth camp sessions.

The position is intentionally designed to be compatible with another job, coaching position, school schedule or existing lesson business.
