Hourly Rate: $33.50-$38.50/hr - DOE, training, and certifications
About the club:
Established in 1887, Denver Country Club is recognized as the first club west of the Mississippi and one of the most prestigious private clubs in the country. The 585 member, by invitation only private club, hosts an 18 hole golf course, two indoor golf simulators (Foresight Quads), indoor and outdoor tennis, platform tennis, pickleball, ice hockey, lawn bowling, croquet, casual and fine dining. The club has a long history of golf championships including the Denver Open (PGA Tour Event 1962-1964), Trans-Mississippi Amateur (upcoming 2022), Pacific Coast Amateur and Curtis Cup (1984). A Golf Course renovation was completed in 2020 - Gil Hanse. The renovation has helped to secure Denver Country Club as one of the premier golf courses in the Western United States. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To provide expert support and guidance on all aspects related to the upkeep and repair of golf course equipment and facility improvements of the Golf Course Maintenance Department.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Head Equipment Technician and Grounds Facility Manager repairs and maintains various golf course maintenance equipment. The equipment manager also assists in maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building, contributes to a preventative maintenance program, and places safety procedures as a top priority.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the superintendent.
• Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs various mechanical pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis.
• Orders replacement parts, lubricants, and fuel.
• Works within budgetary constraints and guidelines set by the superintendent to maintain equipment and supplies.
• Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.
• Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed.
• Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various mowing equipment.
• Keeps maintenance equipment fueled, oiled and inspected; and performs related tasks as required
• Assists where needed throughout the golf course.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel and electric powered equipment, the proper methods of servicing golf course equipment, and the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.
• Knowledge and ability to maintain and operate heavy equipment such as tractors, skid steer, and plow truck.
• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
• Ability to twist, bend, knell, squat, and lift and move heavy objects.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.
• Mechanical ability; ability to use common mechanical tools.
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees.
• Maintain a clean, safe, work environment.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized parts inventory.
• Adhering to the proper recycling and/or disposal of various oils, compounds and other fluids (antifreeze, oil filters, etc.).
• Assisting in an effective, daily inspection of golf course maintenance equipment.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and have a clean Motor Vehicle record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, tools, and materials up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
• Capability to climb ladders, access elevated areas, and work safely on uneven or outdoor terrain.
• Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, grounds equipment, and maintenance machinery with precision.
• Adequate vision, depth perception, and hand–eye coordination to safely inspect, repair, and operate equipment.
Environmental & Outdoor Conditions
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
• Tolerance for exposure to dust, dirt, grass, pollen, chemicals, lubricants, and cleaning agents commonly used in grounds and equipment maintenance.
• Comfortable working in noisy environments around mowers, tractors, blowers, and other mechanical equipment.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance Requirements
• Strength and mobility to lift and mount equipment parts, change attachments, and perform mechanical repairs.
• Ability to crawl under equipment, access tight spaces, and maneuver around machinery safely.
• Stamina to perform repetitive motions, including raking, shoveling, trimming, and equipment cleaning.
Operational Requirements
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver tractors, utility vehicles, mowers, aerators, and other grounds machinery for extended periods.
• Must be able to sit, stand, or drive for long durations depending on task requirements.
• Capacity to respond to emergency maintenance needs, which may require quick physical action or after-hours work.
Additional Functional Requirements
• Ability to communicate clearly while working around loud equipment.
• Must maintain physical readiness to perform manual labor as a core function of the role.
• Ability to wear required PPE (gloves, boots, hearing protection, eye protection, etc.) for extended periods.
