Assistant Superintendent, Golf Course

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Superintendent, Golf Course to join our dynamic grounds maintenance team. In this vital role, you will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the golf course, ensuring pristine conditions and optimal playability. You will lead landscaping and turf management efforts, supervise crew members, and coordinate construction projects to maintain the course’s aesthetic appeal and functionality. Your outdoor work experience, horticulture knowledge, and leadership skills will drive the success of our grounds team, creating an exceptional experience for golfers and visitors alike. Duties Assist in managing daily golf course maintenance activities, including lawn care, landscape maintenance, and turf management Supervise and coordinate the work of groundskeeping crews to ensure efficient operations and high-quality standards Oversee irrigation management systems to maintain optimal moisture levels and healthy turf conditions Lead landscaping efforts, including planting, pruning, fertilizing, and tree care to enhance course beauty Support construction projects related to hardscape features such as pathways, water features, or bunkers Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively, including mowers, trimmers, irrigation tools, and company vehicles Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations during outdoor work activities Conduct regular inspections of the course to identify areas needing repair or improvement and coordinate necessary maintenance or repairs Qualifications Proven experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or groundskeeping with a focus on golf courses or similar outdoor environments Supervising experience leading teams in outdoor work settings with crew management responsibilities Strong knowledge of horticulture practices, plant identification, and tree care techniques Demonstrated ability to operate landscaping equipment and grounds maintenance machinery safely Construction experience related to projects such as hardscape installation or renovation work is a plus Familiarity with irrigation systems management and troubleshooting for healthy turf growth Outdoor work experience requiring physical stamina and attention to detail in all weather conditions Leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to motivate team members and coordinate tasks effectively Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles safely Join us in maintaining a world-class golf course where your expertise in landscaping, turf management, and team leadership will make a lasting impact.
