About the Role
Position Summary
Resort Golf Club is seeking a dependable, hardworking Golf Course Equipment Operator to join our grounds maintenance team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining golf course equipment while helping provide exceptional playing conditions for our members and guests. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in attention to detail, and is committed to maintaining a championship-quality golf course.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate golf course maintenance equipment including greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, aerators, and other specialized equipment.
Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and practice areas to established standards.
Rake and maintain bunkers.
Trim around trees, cart paths, buildings, and landscaped areas.
Assist with irrigation repairs and hand watering as needed.
Perform course setup including changing cups, setting tee markers, and placing signage.
Help with fertilizer, topdressing, and other turf maintenance practices.
Clean, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
Follow all safety procedures and proper equipment operation guidelines.
Assist with special projects and tournament preparation.
Work as part of a team to ensure the golf course is presented in outstanding condition every day.
Qualifications
Previous golf course, landscaping, agriculture, or grounds maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to safely operate commercial mowing equipment or willingness to learn.
Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and standing.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Schedule
Typical shifts begin between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
Weekend and holiday rotations are required.
Overtime may be available during peak growing seasons and tournament preparation.
