About the Role
Job Summary
PSS, LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to lead the establishment, grow-in, and ongoing maintenance of a newly developed 9-hole golf course in Hubbard, Texas.
This is a unique opportunity to oversee the development of a course from the ground up and play a key role in creating a premier golf experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for all agronomic, irrigation, and maintenance operations while building and managing a high-performing grounds team.
Duties
Lead all golf course maintenance and turf management operations.
Develop and implement grow-in, mowing, fertilization, and irrigation programs.
Manage establishment and ongoing care of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscaping.
Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of the irrigation system.
Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance personnel.
Coordinate with project management, construction teams, and ownership throughout course development.
Schedule and oversee pesticide, fertilizer, and nutrient applications in compliance with regulations.
Maintain detailed records of agronomic practices, water use, and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with environmental, OSHA, and safety requirements.
Manage golf course equipment, vehicle fleets, and maintenance facilities.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of progressive golf course maintenance experience.
Previous experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Strong knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, fertilization programs, and pest management.
Ability to supervise employees and manage daily operations.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred
Experience with golf course construction, renovation, or grow-in projects.
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
Texas Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain.
Experience managing warm-season turfgrasses commonly used throughout Texas.
Experience with Rain Bird, Toro, or similar irrigation systems.
