Head Golf Coach – High School

Position Overview
Serve as the lead coach and program coordinator for the high school’s golf team. You will be responsible for coaching, scheduling, logistics, administration, and student-athlete development, in accordance with district, AIA, and NFHS rules and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and lead golf practices and matches—developing skills in fundamentals, strategy, and physical conditioning.
Recruit team members from the student body and foster interest in the golf program.
Coordinate match schedules, secure venues, and manage travel in collaboration with the athletic director.
Ensure compliance with AIA/USGA/NFHS rules, as well as district-level policies, code of conduct, and safety protocols.
Supervise assistants, support staff, and parent volunteers (as allowed by district guidelines) during practices, matches, and travel.
Promote positive sportsmanship, moral values, self-discipline, inclusivity, and academic eligibility among student-athletes.
Manage administrative tasks such as attendance records, insurance, equipment inventory, and fundraising logistics.
Assist in team events—such as year-end banquets, parent/player orientation, and team awards program.
Qualifications
NFHS level I “Fundamentals of Coaching” certification and specific modules including Concussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heat Illness Prevention, and Protecting Students from Abuse (per AIA requirements).
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (in-person hands-on typically required).
Arizona IVP Level One fingerprint clearance card and background check clearance.
Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to drive students to matches or practice venues.
Preferred: prior experience as a head or assistant golf coach, and/or substantial knowledge of golf fundamentals.
