ABOUT THE ROLE: Brookside Country Club is seeking a motivated Spray Technician / Golf Course Maintenance Technician to join our year-round maintenance team.
This position is responsible for chemical applications and will also assist with all aspects of daily golf course maintenance. The selected candidate will be joining a well-established and dedicated management team, all working together with a shared commitment to making Brookside Country Club the best it can be. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Apply fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides to all areas of the golf course according to the agronomic programCalibrate and operate spray equipment as needed, demonstrating proper calibration techniquesMaintain accurate daily spray records and manage chemical inventory in compliance with state and local regulationsMix chemical solutions following label instructions and safety protocols, and read, understand, and stay current with product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Ensure chemical storage and mixing areas meet all local, state, and federal compliance standardsImplement and enforce departmental safety programs and follow all safety protocols when loading, mixing, and applying productsMonitor turf conditions and report issues to the SuperintendentAssist with general grounds maintenance and other course tasks as neededOperate various types of golf course maintenance equipment as neededPerform routine maintenance and cleaning of spray equipment; conduct routine safety inspections of all spray equipment
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Required: Valid state Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)1-3 years of experience in turf management, spray application, or a related field, and/or a turf degree or certificate, preferredFamiliarity with golf course operations a plusAbility to read and follow pesticide labels and SDS documentation, with strong attention to detail and commitment to safetyValid driver's license; CDL a plusAbility to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional holidaysAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsAbility to wear PPE during chemical applications
