About this Role: The Manager, Championships plays a central and multifaceted role in delivering exceptional experiences at several of the USGA's most prestigious championships, including the U.S. Amateur and, when conducted in the United States, the Walker Cup Match. The position serves as a key connector between host clubs, vendors, volunteers, and internal USGA teams, driving planning and execution across functions such as Rules, hospitality, admissions, volunteer integration, vendor logistics, transportation, and more. Success in this role requires a collaborative, detail-oriented approach and a strong foundation in both Rules and championship operations. What you’ll do: US Amateur Championship: Provide full support to the Rules Office and Director, Championships (inside-the-ropes), responsibilities including course marking, pace of play, Rules documentation, and communication with Rules Officials, working staff, etc.Lead in managing logistics (accommodations, credentialing, gifting, uniforms, event functions etc.) for invited Rules Officials Create, edit and provide any necessary on-site Rules resources to be used during conduct of competition.Work in partnership with the operations team to ensure proper execution of large-scale operation plans.Walker Cup Match: Provide full support to the Rules Office and Director, Championships (inside-the-ropes), on responsibilities including course marking, pace of play, Rules documentation, and communication with Rules Officials, working staff, etc.Lead in managing logistics (accommodations, credentialing, gifting, uniforms, event functions, etc.) for invited Rules Officials.Create, edit and provide any necessary on-site Rules resources to be used during conduct of match.Work in partnership with the operations team to ensure proper execution of large-scale operation plans at Match. Also includes supporting practice sessions, captain's dinner, etc.Assist in execution of Team and stakeholder experience at Walker Cup when played overseas.Assist in the conduct of other USGA Championships as assigned. Duties may include: Course marking, course setup, serving as a referee, pace of play management, etc. Assist with operational responsibilities at other championships when necessary Where you'll be: This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are required to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office community days. Employees can choose between Monday or Thursday as their third in-office day. Anticipated travel for this role is approximately 100 - 120 days per year. What you’ll bring: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience4+ years of experience in golf championship or event operationsStrong working knowledge of the Rules of Golf, including course marking and setupExcellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlinesCollaborative mindset with strong cross-team communication abilitiesComfortable with public speaking and formal written communicationProficiency in Microsoft Office and internal platforms (le. volunteer/registration systems) Level: ManagerJob Location: Liberty Corner, NJ Salary Range: $68,000 - $78,000The annual base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $78,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications.
