Position Overview
As the General Manager, you will bridge the worlds of high-volume hospitality and recreation tech—managing the bar, leading the front-of-house team, driving corporate events, and ensuring our simulator bays run flawlessly. The ideal candidate requires minimal supervision and thrives in an autonomous, fast-paced startup environment.
Core Responsibilities
Tech & Operations Management: Oversee the daily calibration and troubleshooting of 5 simulator bays (launch monitors, PCs, and projectors). Act as the first line of defense for basic technical glitches to keep bays operational.
Hospitality & Bar Leadership: Manage all food and beverage operations, including inventory control, menu management, supplier relations, and strict compliance with NYS liquor laws.
Revenue & Event Growth: Build, market, and run weekday golf leagues, local tournaments, and private corporate parties to maximize bay occupancy.
Team Building: Recruit, train, schedule, and lead a tight-knit team of bartenders, servers, and guest hosts. Maintain a high-energy, customer-first service culture.
Financial Accountability: Manage daily cash handling, labor percentages, F&B margins, and bay utilization rates. Report performance directly to ownership.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 3 to 5 years of hospitality, restaurant, or entertainment management experience (Assistant GM or GM level).
F&B Knowledge: Proven track record running a profitable bar or sports lounge, including inventory tracking and labor cost controls.
Tech Comfort: High comfort level with technology, PC software troubleshooting, and audio-visual equipment. Experience with launch monitors (TrackMan, Uneekor, Full Swing) or sports entertainment tech is a massive plus.
Autonomy: Absolute capability to open and close the venue independently, handle emergencies, and manage vendor relationships with minimal owner oversight.
Certifications: TIPS or ServSafe certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
