About the role
The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch is a private membership experience set on 18,000 extraordinary acres in the state of Montana. Take one part working ranch, combine with golf, lodging, great food, and drink plus everything else there is to see and do and you’ve got something beyond special.
Position Summary
The Wrangler position includes all aspects of daily ranch work, guest services, sleigh driving, horse care, and riding! While riding is more limited during the winter months, there will be opportunities to ride as we transition into early spring and bring horses back into work toward the end of the season. Wranglers should have solid riding and horsemanship skills, confidence handling horses, and a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of our winter program.
The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors in cold, snowy Montana conditions. Much of this position involves physical labor, daily barn chores, horse care, and driving horse-drawn sleighs. Previous team driving experience is not required, but candidates must be willing to learn, take direction, and accept feedback with a positive attitude. We need people who are willing to roll up their sleeves, take initiative, and tackle whatever the day brings.
Strong people skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with others are essential. Every day at the ranch is different, so flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to take direction are a must. We are a team, and working effectively with coworkers and other ranch personnel is an important part of the job. Punctuality and reliability are non-negotiable.
If you love horses, the mountains, and the outdoors, and you're ready for a challenging, rewarding ranch experience through a Montana winter, this could be the position for you!
Applicants may be asked to submit saddling and riding videos at a later time. Local applicants may also have the opportunity to participate in a working interview at Crazy Mountain Ranch.
