JOB DESCRIPTION:
A wonderful opportunity has been newly created for a passionate Beverage Manager to join our Food and Beverage Team at Pelican Marsh Golf Club. The ideal candidate will provide an exceptional club experience to our members and guests and will support co-workers as a team member. The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the beverage program, assisting with wine selections and its Wine Club Program, curating specialty cocktails, updating cocktail menus, inventory control, ordering, organization and rotation of product, bar training, and cleanliness of the bar. This position is a hands-on supervisor position with excellent people skills, preparing, organizing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Lead and oversee all beverage and bar operations throughout the Club
2. Collaborate with the management team to set up a specialty cocktail menu, beer, wine, and liquor selections.
3. Maintains a professional and positive attitude
4. Manage beverage purchasing, inventory controls, pricing and cost management.
5. Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating bar staff.
6. Training of food & beverage staff regarding cocktail menu, beer, wine, and liquor knowledge, pours, garnishes and upselling
7. Inspect the bar prior to opening, during service and closing to ensure that adequate supplies are available
8. Requests additional supplies when necessary
9. Maintains set-up and breakdown procedures for the bar
10. Prepares garnishes, glassware and stock for regular dining service or for an event
11. Greets members and guests in a timely manner
12. Manage that the bar staff prepares and serves drinks according to the recipes developed in a timely manner
13. Charge all drinks that are served
14. Knowledge of menus, POS and food service
15. Maintains and cleans bar area and equipment based on SOP
16. Assist in correcting issues as they occur in a timely and professional manner
17. Report complaints to a manager as soon as they occur
18. Polishes and restocks glassware
19. Attend pre-meal and staff meetings as required
20. Assist in setting up dining areas when needed for events
21. Performs cleaning duties as required. It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain the club – “to be member ready at all times”
22. Ensure compliance with all alcohol service regulations, sanitation standards, and safety procedures
23. Support overall dining room operations and assist with floor management as needed
24. All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of two years’ experience managing beverage programs in a high-end private club, upscale restaurant or luxury hotel.
2. Wine Sommelier certification a plus
3. Strong knowledge of beer, spirits, cocktails and wines
4. Maintain knowledge of beverage current trends
5. Thorough knowledge of beverage controls and mixology
6. Must have culinary knowledge to pair wines/cocktails
7. Must possess good written and excellent oral communication skills to interact with members, guests, and employees maintaining a positive atmosphere
8. Position requires the individual to maintain flexible availability during peak season and will work weekends, double-shifts, and holidays
9. Must have clean, neat and well-kept appearance.
10. Must be able to spend long period of time on their feet, walking, standing, lifting, carrying, moving food trays, tables, chairs and furniture up to 50 pounds
11. Must have a viable means of transportation to work
12. Must be able to enter orders effectively and quickly into Point-of-Sale System
SUPERVISES:
Assist in the supervision and training of the bar staff.
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range $68,000-$75,000 annually based on experience; includes an excellent benefit package.
