Sergeant Jasper Golf Club is a community-focused 9-hole semi-private facility dedicated to growing the game of golf and serving as a welcoming hub for players of all ages and skill levels. With strong ties to local youth programs and community organizations, the club is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and engaging golf experience.
Position Summary
The Head Golf Professional / General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operations of the facility, including golf operations, instruction, retail, staffing, and clubhouse/event management. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a motivated professional who is passionate about community engagement and growing the game of golf.
PGA membership is preferred but not required. Candidates actively pursuing PGA membership—or those with comparable experience in golf operations and instruction—are strongly encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties
• Oversee all daily operations of the golf course and clubhouse to ensure a high-quality guest experience
• Manage tee sheet operations, pace of play, cart fleet, and practice facilities
• Develop, promote, and deliver instructional programs, including junior golf, clinics, and private lessons
• Plan, organize, and execute tournaments, leagues, and outings
• Lead and grow golf retail operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and promotional initiatives
• Coordinate clubhouse rentals, special events, and community programming
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff to build a strong, service-oriented team
• Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and control expenses to meet operational goals
• Foster exceptional customer service and enhance member and guest engagement
• Serve as the club’s primary ambassador within the local community and build strategic partnerships
Qualifications
• 3–5+ years of experience in golf operations, hospitality, or facility management preferred
• PGA/LPGA Membership preferred but not required
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience in instruction, merchandising, or event management is a plus
• Working knowledge of financial management, including budgeting, payroll, and inventory control
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience
• Experience working at or managing a 9-hole or semi-private facility
• Demonstrated success in growing participation, instruction programs, or retail revenue
• Familiarity with golf POS systems and tee sheet software
