Assistant Equipment Mechanic

Job Overview Lozano Golf Center is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Assistant Equipment Mechanic to support the maintenance team in keeping all golf course equipment operating safely and efficiently. This role works closely with the Equipment Manager/Head Mechanic to maintain the fleet of turf equipment, golf carts, and other maintenance machinery that supports daily course conditions. Key Responsibilities Assist in performing preventative maintenance on all golf course equipment, including:Reel and rotary mowersUtility vehicles and golf cartsSmall-engine equipment (trimmers, blowers, etc.)Help inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on maintenance equipmentPerform routine tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, blade sharpening, and lubricationAssist with grinding and adjusting cutting units to maintain proper turf qualityMaintain accurate service records and maintenance logsClean and organize the maintenance facility, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properlySupport daily setup by ensuring equipment is prepared and available for the grounds crewFollow all safety procedures and assist in maintaining a safe working environmentQualifications & Experience Mechanically inclined with a strong willingness to learnExperience with small engines, hydraulics, or turf equipment preferred (golf course experience is a plus but not required)Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systemsAbility to use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityDependable, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a teamPhysical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and work on equipment for extended periodsComfortable working in a shop environment as well as outdoors in varying weather conditionsBenefits & Perks Complimentary golf privilegesUnlimited practice facility accessDiscounts on golf shop merchandiseFood & beverage discountsOpportunity to grow within golf course maintenance and turf operationsJob Type: Part-time Pay: From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week Benefits: 401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceExperience: Mechanic experience: 1 year (Required)Ability to Commute: Corpus Christi, TX 78405 (Required)Work Location: In person
