Assistant Golf Professional

Status: Seasonal, Full-Time, Exempt Responsibility: Low level of supervision needed. High level of operational decision making. Reports To: Director of Golf Supervises: PGA Interns Skills: Excellent Golf Skills – Grip, stance, swing, balance, tension recognition, golf instruction, knowledge of the rules of golf. Advanced Administrative Skills – Use of technology, verbal and written communication, business correspondence, organization, time management. Advanced Management Skills – Decision making, planning, problem-solving, communication, delegation, time management, organization, interpersonal skills. Excellent Supervisory Skills – Communication, leadership, conflict resolution, motivation, interpersonal skills, understand diversity and generational differences. Excellent Teamwork and Communication Skills – Interact, work and relate with people, listen, speak, read, write, observe, use English fluently. Excellent Customer Service Skills – Product knowledge, problem-solving skills, time management, attentiveness, patience, positive attitude, a willingness to go the extra mile, responsibility, professionalism. Basic Safety Skills – Observe safety rules, safely operate equipment, food safety consciousness, CPR and First Aid. Effort: Medium – Walk and stand for extended periods of time. Bend, reach, push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Work Conditions: Level 4 - Often outdoors, working in hot/cold environment, inclement weather, variable schedule based on business demands, often duties require working with hazards. Duties: Plan and execute the work schedule for PGA Interns Assign tournament responsibilities to Golf Team Assist in annual hiring of Golf Department Personnel Run bi-weekly staff meetings; includes outside employees, professional staff, and starters Manage the administration of all golf tournaments and events Coordinate play on the course with the Golf Course Superintendent Market and promote all golf related events Manage all golf instructional programs Play the game of golf at a professional level
