Role Description The Greenkeeper is a full-time, on-site role based at SHORECLIFFS GOLF CLUB in San Clemente, CA. This role is responsible for the daily care and presentation of the golf course, including mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs to specified standards. The Greenkeeper will assist with landscape maintenance such as trimming, edging, bunker raking, debris removal, and basic plant care. Routine tasks include monitoring and adjusting irrigation systems, checking turf conditions, and reporting any issues such as pests, diseases, or safety hazards. The role also involves operating and maintaining grounds equipment, following established safety procedures, and supporting seasonal projects like aeration, overseeding, and course improvements.
Qualifications
Experience with course or grounds mowing and related equipment operation (Mowing).Skills in general landscape care, including trimming, edging, and basic plant maintenance (Landscape Maintenance).Knowledge of irrigation systems, including monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and adjustments (Irrigation).Understanding of turf health, including identification of wear, stress, and basic care practices (Turf).Foundational knowledge of turf management principles, such as fertilization, aeration, and pest/disease awareness (Turf Management).Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.Attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety procedures.Prior experience on a golf course, sports field, or similar environment is preferred.Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
