Overview
Entry Level Assistant Golf Professional (Seasonal | 40 Hours/Week)
The Entry-Level Assistant Golf Professional plays a vital role in the golf operations at Charter Oak Country Club. Working closely with the Head Golf Professional, Assistant Professionals, and the outside operations team, this position offers a hands-on opportunity to learn all aspects of a high-level golf operation.
This is a seasonal position running approximately from April 15th through November 30th, with a consistent 40-hour workweek.
Position Overview
This role focuses heavily on managing external operations and delivering an exceptional member and guest experience. The individual will oversee daily play, supervise staff, and ensure all golf operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily Operations Management
• Oversee all outdoor golf operations, including bag drop, cart staging, driving range, and on-course support
• Monitor and manage play flow to ensure an efficient and enjoyable experience
• Maintain a visible and engaged presence throughout the facility
Customer Service
• Provide a welcoming and personalized experience for all members and guests
• Address and resolve issues promptly and professionally
• Lead by example in creating a culture of hospitality and service excellence
Course and Event Operations
• Assist in the execution of tournaments, outings, and special events
• Coordinate on-course setup, including signage, hole locations, and pace of play logistics
• Ensure all areas are properly prepared for daily play and events
Facility and Equipment Maintenance
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of all outdoor areas, including cart barns and bag storage
• Oversee the condition and readiness of the golf cart fleet and practice facilities
• Coordinate basic maintenance and communicate repair needs as necessary
Team Leadership & Development
• Supervise, train, and support outside operations staff
• Set clear expectations and ensure consistent service standards
• Provide feedback to help team members grow and improve
Other Duties as Assigned
• Assist the Head Professional and Assistant Professionals with daily operations and special projects
• Contribute to all areas of the golf operation as needed

Experience Required
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Efficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Event-Man Tournament Software
• Tournament operations experience
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
