JOB SUMMARY:
The Server is responsible for providing food and beverage service to Club Members and guests. Provides Club Members and guests with the finest service while creating a warm and friendly environment. Servers may occasionally take and confirm Member dining reservations for meals and special events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES and other duties as may be assigned related to this position.
Facilitates food service.
Takes accurate Food and Beverage orders and puts them into Northstar in a timely fashion. Follows standards of service techniques and resets tables properly.
Serves water, butter and coffee.
Cleans tables and seats, carries dishes and trays, replaces and replenishes linens, silverware, glasses and dishes.
Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly workstation at all times.
Handles Member and guest routine comments in a professional manner and according to Club policies and refers any issues or concerns to the manager.
Keeps the proper amount of supplies on hand during peak and slow periods. These include condiments, utensils, napkins, under-liners, glassware etc.
Completes opening and closing side work as assigned.
Cleans and polishes surfaces in restaurant areas. Mops and vacuums floors.
Cleans spilled food, drinks and broken dishes.
Removes empty bottles and trash.
Maintains a neat and professional appearance with nametag and uniform throughout the shift.
Creates a friendly atmosphere by smiling and using Member and guest names on a consistent basis.
Anticipates needs of Members and guests in order to provide proactive service at all times.
Maintains a neat and orderly record of all food & beverage transactions.
Communicates with fellow employees (bussers, cooks, service assistants, bartenders, captains and managers) to increase the level of service provided to Members and guests.
Maintains work areas in a safe and sanitary manner.
Sets up beverage stations and tables for private or Club functions.
Assists in turnovers (from one event to another)
May be required to move furniture around for special events and parties
May occasionally take and confirm Member dining reservations for meals and special events
Maintains complete confidentiality at all times
Works as a contributing player to the JIC team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED and 5 months’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous country club experience would be advantageous. Northstar experience preferred. Safe Staff certification required
