JOB SUMMARY: The Golf Camp Instructor is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional in supervising all daily golf programming at the facility. Lead and develop lesson plans. Golf coaches must teach the fundamentals of the game to golfers of all abilities in a fun and interactive way, using a combination of traditional and non-traditional methods.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that classes are set up on time according to the lesson plan
Maintain consistent attendance
Start and end scheduled classes on time
Maintain and organize the equipment storage area
Make the game fun for junior golfers
Be charismatic, personable and motivated when working with campers
Actively contribute to the Park District's sustainability goals
Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidents
Obey the practical safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Wilmette Park District safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted by the department
Become familiar with and follow the safety procedures of the Wilmette Park District, including, but not limited to, fire, severe weather, and evacuation procedures
Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions observed to the immediate supervisor, Human Resources/Risk Management division
Attend and participate in required safety training
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Entering senior year of high school and above
One or more years experience working as a youth coach, i.e., camps, classes, and after-school programming
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of golf terms, rules, and equipment required.
High School playing experience preferred
Understand the fundamentals of the golf swing
