Position Summary
Sugar Mill Country Club is seeking a motivated and dependable Golf Course Groundskeeper to assist in maintaining the golf course and club grounds to the highest standards of playability and appearance. This position works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and management team to provide exceptional course conditions for members and guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other turf areas
Operate and maintain golf course equipment safely and efficiently
Rake and maintain bunkers
Assist with irrigation repairs and hand watering when needed
Edge cart paths, trim around trees and landscape areas
Assist with fertilizer and pesticide applications under supervision
Set up the golf course daily, including cups, tee markers, and practice facilities
Remove debris and maintain overall cleanliness of the course and clubhouse grounds
Help with sod work, seeding, drainage, and other course improvement projects
Follow all safety procedures and club standards
Qualifications
Previous golf course, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred but not required
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills
Valid driver’s license preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods
Ability to operate equipment such as mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, and hand tools
