Seven Oaks Country Club is the premier country club in central California and enjoys a reputation as one of the most spectacular clubs in the state. Its majestic architecture, meticulous attention to detail, and championship 27‑hole golf course designed by world‑renowned architect Robert Muir Graves boasts breathtaking fairways, beautiful lakes, and manicured bunker‑guarded greens. The 245‑acre playground truly is a home away from home for 930‑plus members. Seven Oaks also features seven tennis courts, five pickleball courts, two swimming pools, fitness facilities, five‑star dining, and social activities throughout the year. The club recently completed a $4 million renovation of its mixed‑grille Tavern and invested in new golf course fairway and bunkers and a new fleet of golf carts.

Position Overview
Title: Head Golf Professional
Reports to: General Manager/COO
Supervises: Golf Professionals, Outside Services, and Player Assistants
Position Description: Manages, supervises, and oversees the club’s entire golf operation to provide the highest standards of excellence for member and guest enjoyment. Plans and coordinates a golf program that is respected and enjoyed by the membership. Manages the Golf Pro Shop and related services to meet the needs of the members in a manner consistent with the club’s mission and philosophy. Ensures proper communication between departments, maintains excellent relationships with suppliers, and keeps members satisfied and well‑informed.
Essential Job Functions
• Assist in the design and promotion of all golf activities.
• Promote inter‑connectivity/cross‑promotion and cross‑programming between golf and tennis.
• Work with the General Manager and Golf Course Superintendent to prepare budgets for golf operations.
• Maintain management reports in sufficient detail to properly track where revenue is generated along with rounds played.
• Provide daily accounting of the entire golf revenue stream and shop expenses.
• Complete and accurately prepare daily reports each night.
• Reconcile cash receipts to the register drawer and the daily report.
• Order merchandise for the Golf Pro Shop.
• Order supplies associated with golf activities.
• Supervise, train, and direct club staff in customer service, golf cart maintenance, turf maintenance, Golf Pro Shop, golf professionals, and other on‑course personnel.
• Organize charges and collect fees for all golf‑related activities.
• Conduct golf clinics and training programs.
• Supervise the planning, promotion, and execution of all club‑based and outside golf tournaments.
• Interpret and enforce the club’s golf rules and regulations without prejudice and ensure that the Golf Pro Shop staff is familiar with club rules and policies.
• Interpret and enforce facility policies, rules, and regulations without prejudice.
• Handle general administration of any future golf memberships.
• Supervise and schedule the work hours for Golf Pro Shop operation, golf course, and golf cart staff within the parameters of the annual operating budget.
• Play golf regularly with a cross‑section of members.
• Control and maintain an adequate inventory of golf merchandise for retail sales from the Golf Pro Shop.
• Function as management liaison with the Golf & Greens Committee, attend monthly meetings, and recommend policy changes in the areas of user fee structure, hours of operation, guest privileges, etc.
• Meet regularly with the General Manager and the Golf Course Superintendent to review the condition of the golf course and make recommendations on areas needing attention.
• Provide for the most efficient use of tee times and assure all tee times are properly scheduled.
• Assure that sufficient golf carts are available and ready for play.
Experience And Qualifications
Including, but not limited to, the following:
• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Must have a minimum of five years of experience as a Head Professional or an Assistant Golf Professional at a recognized golf club.
• Prior experience in all facets of golf operations, including inventory and financial control; employee motivation and training; golf instruction; tournament and event management; and working knowledge of golf course maintenance.
• Expertise in golfing rules and regulations.
• Good working knowledge of golf course maintenance.
• Knowledge of marketing, financial management, and retail operations.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role during emergency situations.
Licenses and Special Requirements
• Class A member in good standing with the PGA or the LPGA or in the PGA or LPGA Class A program.
• Has met PGA criteria for Head Professional.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
• Frequent repetitive motions.
• Continuous standing and walking.
• Ensures work areas are safe and conducts daily inspections of the work space.
Compensation And Benefits
The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications, including but not limited to:
• Base Salary $110,000 – $120,000
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, 401k, 80% Lesson Income, Club Privileges, PGA Continuing Education Expenses
