Experience Required Experience Required High School Diploma Enrollment in PGA Program (recommended) Applicant to be pursuing PGA membership Previous experience at private golf facility (recommended) Strong customer service and leadership skills Detail-oriented Knowledge of the USGA Rules of Golf Knowledge of golf shop operations, tournaments, and teaching. Knowledge of Golf Genius Software (preferred) Outgoing personality Good communication skills Essential Responsibilities Essential Responsibilities The applicant should have a desire to work in the golf industry and be working toward PGA membership or be an active PGA member. The assistant golf professional will work to ensure exceptional customer service. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, ensuring that all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner, providing assistance and information to members and guests, accurately operating point of sale system, assisting with special orders and all golf shop inventory, giving lessons, performing minor club repair, operating tournament software, outing preparation, playing golf with the membership, merchandising the golf shop. The Assistant Golf Professional will be a team player who reports to the Director of Golf and works with other assistants to maintain an exceptional golf shop operation. Enforce club rules and policies to members and guests Work in a professional manner with all club staff Administering golf leagues & events Overseeing golf shop operations (opening & closing) Managing online reservations, website & inventory systems Monitoring on-course activity & pace of play Providing golf lessons/club fittings for members Coordinating Junior Golf Program EVENTS AND LEAGUES
Assisting with the operation/execution of club events and outside events Coordinating/assisting with leagues: Men's Leagues, Women's Leagues, PGA Junior League Working closely with other Golf Professionals on major club events (Member/Member, Old Crown Invitational, Fall Invitational and many more) INSTRUCTION, CLUB FITTING AND PLAYING
Instructing all members on the fundamentals of the game in both private and group environments Assisting members and guests with their equipment needs through knowledgeable club fittings using fitting systems and technology provided Playing golf with members as all staff encouraged to play with members as frequently as possible MERCHANDISING
