About the Role
Heritage Oaks Golf & Country Club, a premier bundled private community in Sarasota, Florida, is proudly celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. With 850 residences and a highly active golf and tennis membership, Heritage Oaks offers a dynamic environment rooted in excellence and Member satisfaction.
We are currently seeking a Merchandising Director to lead our golf retail operations. This role is key to creating a high-quality shopping experience for our Members through exceptional product selection, merchandising strategies, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall success and profitability of the golf merchandise operation.
Direct and oversee all merchandise-related activities in support of the golf operation’s mission.
Develop and execute seasonal buying plans and all purchasing activities.
Present a diverse, appealing selection of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories tailored to Member preferences.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels aligned with seasonal trends and Member traffic.
Ensure the Golf Shop maintains an organized, clean, and visually engaging environment.
Manage inventory records from purchase through sale and monitors monthly levels of inventory and retail assets.
Receive, price, and accurately enter merchandise into the POS system. Conduct timely and accurate physical inventory counts.
Establish pricing structures for all inventory and special-order items.
Collaborate closely with the Head Golf Pro on purchasing, invoice processing, staffing, and supporting special Club events.
Attend approved merchandise buying shows and industry conferences.
Perform related duties as assigned by the Head Golf Pro or Club Management.
Always uphold a professional, respectful attitude toward Members and fellow team members.
Qualifications:
Previous retail or golf merchandise experience preferred
Strong merchandising, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems; NorthStar POS experience a plus
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to lift and move merchandise (30–50 lbs.).
Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.
Some college education preferred.
Compensation:
Pay is based on experience.
