Maketewah Country Club Grounds Department is hiring an Assistant Mechanic. This position works alongside the Equipment Manager to maintain and repair a fleet of golf course maintenance equipment. Maketewah is one of the longest-standing U.S. Open Qualifier host sites and the proud host of the LPGA Queen City Championship. We are also home to one of the largest populations of single-digit handicap golfers in the state of Ohio. This caliber of membership expects championship-level playing conditions every day, and delivering those conditions begins with reliable, well-maintained equipment. Whether you're an experienced mechanic, a skilled tinkerer, or someone eager to develop a career in the industry, you'll play a critical role in a golf course maintenance operation dedicated to excellence.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Operation of all equipment
2. Preventative maintenance
3. Troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical issues
4. Checking quality of cut of all equipment during and after use
5. Grinding and sharpening cutting blades
6. Help ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently

Previous experience with small engines, diesel equipment, hydraulics, welding, or turf equipment is preferred but not required. What is required is that you:
