About the Role
Play! Hoboken is a 15,000-square-foot indoor family entertainment center. We offer a diverse, high-energy environment featuring nine state-of-the-art commercial golf simulators, a vibrant billiards community, tabletop gaming, and youth programs. We are looking for an experienced, passionate Head Golf Professional who can not only lead our golf instruction programs but also step up as a Manager for our entire multi-faceted facility.
The Role
This is a dual-role position perfect for an engaging golf professional who thrives in a lively indoor environment. Your primary focus will be delivering high-quality, extensive golf instruction to a wide demographic, including young children in our Operation 36 programs, adult beginners, and experienced players of all genders.
Beyond the simulator bays, you will act as a Facility Manager. You will help oversee daily operations across our entire entertainment space, ensuring an excellent customer experience for everyone—whether they are taking a golf lesson, playing a round of pool, or attending a summer camp.
Key Responsibilities
Golf Instruction: Conduct extensive daily golf lessons, clinics, and programs for individuals of all ages, skill levels, and genders, with a strong emphasis on youth and beginner engagement.
Technology Management: Operate, troubleshoot, and maximize the use of our indoor commercial golf simulators (including GSPro and Operation 36 tracking software).
Facility Management: Act as the manager on duty for the full facility. Oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment across the golf, billiards, and gaming areas.
Staff Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and mentor other golf instructors and facility staff.
Program Development: Help design and grow indoor golf leagues, tournaments, and seasonal programs.
Equipment Services: Perform club repair and maintenance services (grips, shafts, loft/lie adjustments) for clients. (Preferred)
Qualifications
Experience: Active PGA Member/Associate OR possesses extensive, proven experience in golf instruction.
Teaching Prowess: Demonstrated ability and patience to teach diverse audiences, especially children and beginners, as well as highly skilled players.
Tech-Savvy: Strong familiarity with indoor golf simulator technology and launch monitors.
Leadership: Previous experience supervising staff or managing a facility is highly preferred.
Bonus Skills: Professional club repair skills are a strong plus.
Personality: Highly energetic, adaptable, and customer-focused. You must be comfortable stepping away from the tee to manage a bustling entertainment center.
