DescriptionThe Country Club of Virginia is seeking a dynamic and energetic Banquet Supervisor.
Primary responsibilities include the execution of wedding, corporate, and social events in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ability to manage simultaneous events across a large campus is crucial to success.Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate banquet events, ensuring service excellence from setup to breakdownLead, train, and motivate banquet staff to provide attentive and professional serviceWork closely with the Banquet Manager, culinary team, and event planners to execute functions seamlesslyEnsure superior communication to all team members on events and scheduling needsMaintain event timelines, oversee room setup, and ensure d cor and service meet event requirementsMonitor staff performance, delegate tasks, and provide on-the-spot coaching as neededEnsure compliance with safety, sanitation, and service standardsHandle member requests and resolve issues promptly and professionallyAssist with scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining equipment in good conditionQualifications:Previous banquet, catering, or hospitality supervisory experience preferredBar and beverage knowledgeStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing event needsDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skillsFlexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysStrong written communication skills, with proficiency in basic computer applications including Excel and POS softwareAbility to lift/carry up to 25-50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periodsClub ProfileThe Country Club of Virginia is one of America's oldest and finest private, member-owned clubs. Located in Richmond, CCV was organized in 1908 and is one of the nation's largest full-service country clubs. The club's 8,000members support 1,111 acres containing two beautiful clubhouses situated seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, 24 tennis courts, five squash courts, three platform tennis courts, a 100,000 square foot fitness complex, five pools, five dining outlets, three snack bars, and special event venues. In season, CCV employs a staff of over 800 and has an operating budget in excess of $52 million.The Banquets operation at the Westhampton Clubhouse executes events ranging from intimate dinners to receptions for 1,200.
Each day is different, but the quality and the expectations remain consistently high. Annual event revenues exceed $3 million.The Banquet management team consists of a manager, assistant manager, and two supervisors. The supervisor will ensure platinum service is extended to all our members and guests while working with the staff to execute a variety of functions on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated hands-on management style, solid administrative skills, and a planning mindset with the ability to successfully execute events and lead a winning team. Upscale banquet serving experience is required.
