About the Role
The Opportunity
Established in 1919 by prominent Amarillo banker and oilman Charles A. Fisk, Amarillo Country Club holds the distinction of being the first country club in the Texas Panhandle. From its earliest days, ACC has served as a social and recreational hub for the region’s business and professional community, fostering a legacy of tradition, hospitality, and exceptional member experiences for more than a century.
The Club’s original golf course was designed by William McConnell, laying the foundation for a program that would go on to host notable golfers and become one of the area’s most respected golf venues. Throughout its history, ACC has continued to reinvest in its facilities to ensure a premier private-club experience. After the original clubhouse was lost to fire in the early 1930s, a new clubhouse designed by architect Guy Carlander opened in 1933. Subsequent enhancements to the golf course included revisions by Warren Cantrell in 1960 and noted architect Jay Morrish in 1983, each contributing to the evolution and quality of the golf experience.
In 2012, Amarillo Country Club completed a transformative modernization project led by D.A. Weibring and Steve Wolfard. This extensive renovation included the redesign of six holes, significant course modernization, and improvements to the clubhouse, golf shop, and tennis courts, solidifying ACC’s commitment to blending tradition with continuous improvement.
Today, Amarillo Country Club remains a private club offering golf, inviting dining venues, vibrant event spaces, tennis, fitness, and year-round social programming. The golf program continues to be a central pillar of the club’s culture, attracting players of all ages through competitive events, instructional opportunities, and welcoming camaraderie. The Director of Golf joins this rich legacy and plays a key role in shaping the continued excellence of Amarillo Country Club’s golf experience.
Gross revenues total $10M with Golf Revenue of $1.3M & $650K in Merchandise Sales. There are 590 memberships.
