About Austin Country Club
Founded in 1899, Austin Country Club (ACC) is one of the oldest existing clubs in Texas and the first golf club established in the state. The Club was founded by Lewis Hancock, former Mayor of Austin, and is rich in tradition and excellence.
ACC is home to legendary golf instructor Harvey Penick, who was part of the Club's story for 82 years and taught champions including Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, Betsy Rawls, and Mickey Wright.
Located along beautiful Lake Austin, ACC has hosted the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play since 2016 through 2023. The course was designed by Pete Dye and is a par 72 championship layout. In 2018, the course was enshrined in the Texas Registry of Historic Golf Courses by the Texas Golf Hall of Fame.
ACC is a Platinum Honorable Mention Club of America and maintains full membership with a strong waiting list. The Club is family-centered, mission-driven, and committed to service that consistently exceeds member expectations.
Position Summary
The Food & Beverage Intern at Austin Country Club will gain hands-on experience in private luxury club operations through rotational exposure to à la carte dining, banquet and event operations, beverage management, pool service, and hospitality leadership. This internship is designed to develop future hospitality professionals through mentorship, operational training, and leadership development in a high-end club environment.

Program Goals
Develop operational knowledge in club food & beverage
Build leadership and communication skills
Create exposure to luxury hospitality standards
Teach banquet and à la carte operations
Introduce beverage and wine management
Provide mentorship from club leadership
Prepare interns for hospitality management careers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
À La Carte Dining Operations
Provide exceptional food and beverage service to members and guests
Learn and execute luxury dining service standards
Utilize POS/Jonas systems accurately and efficiently
Assist with dining room setup, service pacing, and table maintenance
Practice member engagement and service recovery techniques
Support upselling initiatives and menu knowledge development
Banquet & Event Operations
Assist with banquet setup and breakdown for weddings, tournaments, and private events
Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and support event execution
Coordinate event logistics with culinary and service teams
Assist with bar setup and beverage service for events
Maintain service standards during high-volume functions
Beverage Operations
Participate in wine education and beverage training sessions
Learn wine service procedures and cocktail preparation standards
Assist with beverage inventory and stocking procedures
Maintain compliance with TABC regulations and responsible alcohol service standards
Develop knowledge of liquor, wine, beer, and specialty beverages
Pool & Seasonal Operations
Provide high-volume seasonal service in outdoor dining environments
Deliver family-focused hospitality experiences to members and guests
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas
Support seasonal operational needs and staffing initiatives
Leadership & Administrative Exposure
Shadow club leadership and department managers
Participate in scheduling and labor management discussions
Attend pre-shift meetings and operational briefings
Assist with hiring, interviewing, and training initiatives as assigned
Learn basic financial controls and inventory management practices
