About the Role
About The Back Nine
The Back Nine is the Greater Pittsburgh region’s premier, flagship 24/7 autonomous indoor golf luxury lounge. Powered by elite, tour-level Full Swing simulator technology, we provide our exclusive member community with an uncompromised, high-tech training and entertainment space. We are looking for a forward-thinking, energetic Golf Professional to join our launch team, anchor our player development programs, and build a thriving indoor academy.
The Opportunity: Escape the 60-Hour Grind
Are you a country club assistant tired of folding shirts, washing golf carts, and working 70-hour summer weeks for low pay? Or a former competitive collegiate player looking to build an elite instruction business inside a state-of-the-art facility?
We are offering a stable, highly competitive year-round base salary for just 30 scheduled operational hours a week. Outside of those hours, you have full access to our flagship technology to teach your private clients, retaining a significant portion of lesson revenue.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership (30 Hours/Week)
Member Onboarding & Dues: Lead premium facility tours, execute high-end corporate simulator demos, and drive local membership growth.
Youth Pipeline Development: Partner with our local community and the high school varsity programs to design, market, and run winter leagues and youth clinics.
Site Management: Collaborate with our operations coordinator to ensure the facility layout, tech bay setups, and luxury lounge spaces remain immaculate and well-stocked.
2. Instruction & Player Performance (Flexible / Self-Scheduled Hours)
Build and manage your own private lesson book utilizing our precision launch-monitor data.
Deliver highly engaging instruction to diverse client profiles—from scratch players adjusting their club specifications to high school juniors and absolute beginners.
Provide expert assistance on data tracking, video swing analysis, and virtual course strategy inside the simulator bays.
Qualifications & Archetype Match
Experience: 1–3 years of golf operations, assistant professional, or competitive playing experience (PGA Associate, Level 1–3, or former D1/D2 collegiate golfer strongly preferred).
Tech-Savy: Deep comfort with or eager willingness to master modern launch monitor metrics (ball speed, launch angle, spin axis, club path).
Leadership Style: Outgoing, articulate, and professional. You take pride in being a brand ambassador and excel at making members feel like country club VIPs.
Coaching Mentality: Passionate about growing the game, particularly focused on junior golf, high school competitive prep, and local community engagement.
Perks & Benefits
Guaranteed stable base salary for true part-time operational hours.
Highly lucrative commission split on all independent private coaching and custom clinic revenue.
24/7 personal facility playing and practice privileges during off-peak hours.
Collaborative, high-growth startup environment with a clear pathway to a full-time Director of Instruction role as our footprint expands.
We are also open to alternative contract based structures for lessons only.
