JOIN THE RIDGLEA AGRONOMY TEAM Ridglea Country Club is seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and career-driven Assistant Superintendent to join our agronomy team and help lead the daily maintenance of our North Course. Founded in 1954 and located in Fort Worth, Texas, Ridglea is a 36-hole private country club with a long-standing commitment to providing exceptional playing conditions and a first-class member experience. RIDGLEA COUNTRY CLUB NORTH COURSE HIGHLIGHTS - Annual Rounds: Approximately 32,000 - Total Agronomy Staff: 20 full-time employees - Typical Work Schedule – March–October: Typically 45–50 hours per week - Typical Work Schedule – November–February: Typically 40–45 hours per week - Turf Types: TifEagle Bermudagrass greens and TifSport Bermudagrass fairways - Overseeding: Poa Trivialis on greens; Perennial Ryegrass/Poa Trivialis on tees, collars and approaches - Irrigation: Toro Lynx Central Control System with Lynx Smart Satellites - Equipment: Toro, John Deere, and Baroness SUCCESS TRAITS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team, and wants to continue developing as a golf course professional. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: - A positive, team-oriented attitude - Confidence leading and communicating with employees - Dependability and accountability - Strong organizational and time-management skills - Attention to detail and pride in course presentation - A professional approach when interacting with members, guests, vendors, and coworkers - A willingness to be hands-on and lead by example - A desire to learn and develop as an agronomic professional - An interest in eventually pursuing a Golf Course Superintendent position KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist with the daily management and maintenance of the North Course and club grounds - Work closely with the Superintendent and Director of Agronomy in planning and implementing agronomic programs - Schedule, supervise, train, and motivate maintenance staff - Assist with fertilizer and pesticide applications and maintain accurate records - Assist with irrigation repair, troubleshooting, and water management - Coordinate multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to detail - Promote a safe, productive, and positive work environment - Assist with tournament preparation and special projects - Contribute to course improvement, capital projects, and long-term planning QUALIFICATIONS Required: - 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field - Previous golf course maintenance experience - Experience with spray applications, irrigation repair, and water management - Ability to effectively lead and communicate with a large maintenance team - Must have or be able to obtain a Texas State Pesticide Applicator License within 90 days of employment Preferred: - Previous supervisory or management experience - Strong Spanish-speaking skills - Experience with fertilizer and pesticide applications - Experience working in a high-expectation private club environment PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Ridglea is committed to developing people and helping team members advance in the golf course management profession.
