About the Role
The Country Club of Harrisburg is seeking a Golf Course Equipment Technician. The Golf Course Equipment Technician reports to the golf course superintendent and oversees maintenance of all golf course equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, maintaining parts/labor records, and ordering parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The Golf Course Equipment Technician places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building.
Develops and performs a preventative maintenance program on all golf course maintenance equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical problems with all equipment.
Communicates the maintenance and repair needs of all equipment to the superintendent.
Overhaul and be able to repair diesel and gas engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical.
Operate shop equipment such as equipment lifts, grinding tools, air-compression tools, and welding equipment.
Understand technical literature regarding equipment maintenance and repair.
Accountable for the repair and sharpening of all reel and rotary equipment at the discretion of the superintendent.
Must be able to manage and handle oils, grease, and other chemical compounds within the shop area.
Responsible for ordering/receiving parts, tracking inventory, and maintaining equipment repair records.
Trains staff on the safe and proper use of equipment.
Maintains a safe, organized, and clean shop work area.
Prioritizes safety and addresses hazard concerns.
Recommends equipment purchases and leases.
Operates heavy and light equipment.
Operates equipment on the golf course as needed

Educational Requirements:
High school education or equivalent.
Experience Requirements:
Must have mechanical knowledge and an interest in the turfgrass industry.
Prefer advanced technical training and a degree or certificate in mechanical repairs.
Prefer a minimum of three years' experience as a lead or maintenance mechanic at a golf course.
Knowledgeable in the maintenance and setup of cutting reels and rotary blades.
Special Requirements
Possess a valid driver's license.
Must be willing to work overtime and tournament weekends.
Attention to detail
Strong time management skills
Must be able to pass a background check.
