Turf Equipment Technician

Baltusrol Golf Club is seeking a motivated and passionate Turf Equipment Technician to join our Grounds Department. This is an outstanding opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual who wants to build a long-term career in the golf course industry. Working directly alongside our Equipment Manager, who brings more than 35 years of industry experience, you will receive hands-on training and mentorship while maintaining and repairing championship-level golf course equipment. In the coming years, Baltusrol will host some of golf's most prestigious championships, including the 2029 PGA Championship, the 2033 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, the 2039 U.S. Amateur Championship, and the 2046 U.S. Open. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in preparing and maintaining equipment that supports championship-caliber playing conditions on one of the game's most storied stages. Essential Functions/Qualifications: - Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on golf course equipment. - Diagnose and repair diesel, gasoline, and electric-powered engines. - Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and hydrostatic systems. - Service equipment, including fluid changes, adjustments, and repairs. - Sharpen, set up, and adjust reel and rotary mowers. - Perform welding and light fabrication as needed. - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop. - Must have a high level of mechanical aptitude Minimum Requirements: - Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience. - Experience with diesel, gasoline, and electric-powered equipment. - Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems. - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. - Welding and fabrication experience preferred. - Golf course equipment experience is a plus. Physical and Environment Demands: - Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. - Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. - Safely operate golf course maintenance equipment and company vehicles. - Exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids, solvents, and maintenance products. - Use PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety-toe footwear. - Follow all safety policies and procedures.
