About the Role
Country Club of the North is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Irrigation Technician to join our Golf Course Maintenance team.
This position plays a critical role in the daily conditioning of the golf course. The Irrigation Technician helps maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and fine-tune the golf course irrigation system to ensure consistent turf health, efficient water use, and excellent playing conditions for our members and guests.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working outdoors, takes pride in clean and efficient work, and understands that irrigation is one of the most important systems on a golf course. We are looking for someone who can think through problems and communicate clearly.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair the golf course irrigation system.
Diagnose and repair leaks, broken heads, damaged pipe, valves, wiring, controllers, decoders, and related irrigation components.
Adjust sprinkler heads, arcs, nozzles, and coverage patterns to improve watering efficiency and turf consistency.
Assist with daily moisture management, including hand watering, syringing, and monitoring dry or overly wet areas.
Perform routine irrigation checks and identify problems before they impact course conditions.
Assist with pump station checks, pressure issues, flow concerns, and system performance.
Help schedule, monitor, and adjust irrigation cycles based on weather, course needs, and superintendent direction.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, irrigation issues, and completed work.
Communicate clearly with the Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and maintenance team.
Assist the grounds team with mowing, course setup, projects, drainage, landscaping, and general maintenance when needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including irrigation tools, parts, and supplies.
Follow all safety procedures when digging, operating equipment, working around electrical components, and repairing pressurized systems.

Preferred Experience
Experience with golf course, landscape, athletic field, agricultural, or commercial irrigation systems.
Knowledge of sprinkler heads, valves, pipe repair, fittings, wire tracking, controllers, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
Experience with PVC, HDPE, or similar irrigation piping.
Familiarity with central control irrigation systems is a plus.
Golf course maintenance experience is strongly preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Equipment operation experience is a plus.
Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, dig, and use hand tools for extended periods.
Ability to work outdoors in heat, rain, cold, and other weather conditions.
Ability to safely operate utility vehicles, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional extended hours as needed during the golf season.
