Duties

Operate and maintain golf course groundskeeping equipment including mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems to ensure optimal turf and landscape conditions. Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, planting, fertilizing, and watering to promote healthy turf and vibrant landscapes. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine system checks for efficient water use. Conduct athletic field groundskeeping activities including turf aeration, topdressing, and pest management to maintain playable surfaces. Use hand tools and power tools safely for landscaping projects while adhering to safety protocols related to power tool operation and maintenance. Handle manual labor tasks such as heavy lifting, soil preparation, planting, and debris removal to keep the course clean and well-maintained. Apply pesticides or herbicides responsibly following all safety guidelines to control pests and weeds without harming the environment or course quality. Operate company vehicles for transportation of equipment or materials around the course while following all safety procedures. Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure longevity and reliable operation of groundskeeping tools and machinery.

Experience

Prior experience in golf course groundskeeping or athletic field maintenance is highly preferred. Knowledge of irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair is desirable. Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices including lawn care, gardening, and pest management techniques. Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and other landscaping machinery. Understanding of safety standards related to power tool use, heavy lifting, pesticide application, and equipment maintenance is essential. Ability to perform manual handling tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a physically demanding outdoor environment. Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude toward maintaining high standards of course appearance and safety compliance.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
