Position Overview: The following are essential duties and responsibilities of the Greenskeeper. The Greenskeeper works under the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. The Greenskeeper must be able to drive turf vehicles and mowers; working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment to maintain the grounds and course in a manner conducive to Club expectations.
Duties And Responsibilities: Includes the following.
· Operates large mowers, tractors, and other light equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
· Responsible for checking fluid levels before operating any machine.
· Responsible for reporting any abnormalities discovered while operating machinery to supervisor.
· Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility, wash
equipment at the end of each day.
· Maintain teeing ground, weed tee surrounds, and other turf areas.
· Plants bushes, shrubs, and other native plants. Edges, rakes, and maintains sand bunkers.
· Edges cart paths and around fairway yardage markers.
· Hand rakes leaves and other debris.
· Operates turf vac, skip-loader, fairway and rough aerifier, and boom sprayer.
· Apply divot mix to driving range tee and other tees on the golf course.
· Fill divot bottles with divot mix.
· Clean restrooms and break room as assigned.
· Perform weed eating around trees, bunkers, and cart path curbs.
· Mow greens with walking greens mower.
· Compact golf course bunkers with vibratory tamper.
· Pick up grass piles.
· Lays sod.
· Mow tees with walking mower and green approaches with riding mower.
· Must be able to service the golf course, including changing green flags, putting cups, moving rope and barricades, and moving tee markers.
· Must be able to move directional barricades, ropes, and stakes.
· Blow cart paths with backpack blowers or riding blowers.
· Helps in project work; assists in the construction and seeding of new greens, tees, and fairways.
· Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
· Possession of a valid driver’s license to drive company vehicles.
· Possesses ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations within the golf course areas, including communicating situations to supervisors.
· Must be able to communicate in English.
· Possessing a general knowledge of Spanish helpful but not mandatory.
· Ensures member and guest satisfaction through proper internal controls.
· Engages in positive, open communication to maintain a team environment.
· Works with management to reserve a safe, secure, and sanitary environment which fosters Club and employee success.
· Possesses a valid state-issued driver’s license and maintains insurance.
· Responsible for attending all Course Maintenance and Victoria Club meetings, attends the quarterly safety trainings.
· Other duties may be assigned.

Organizational Relationships
The position of Greenskeeper works under the direct supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and indirectly under the directive of the General Manager and the Board of Directors.
Benefits
On the first day of the new month following completion of 60 days of employment with Victoria Club, the full-time employee and their eligible family members will be able to enroll in our group health plan. The Club currently pays 100% of the monthly premium for employees at the benchmark rate for Kaiser Gold HMO A. Employees may select a plan at a higher tier among Victoria Club’s offered plans, but will be required to pay the difference in the premium rate for any plan at a higher rate than the Kaiser Gold HMO A. Dependents’ coverage is an out-of-pocket expense for the employee and must be the same plan as the employee’s.
At the same time, full-time non-exempt employees will also have the option of enrolling themselves and any eligible family members in our dental and vision plan(s); either a free discount plan or a voluntary dental or vision plan, paid for by employees.
Victoria Club also has a 401k plan, and the employee will be eligible to participate after one (1) year of employment and the completion of 1,000 hours with Victoria Club. Enrollment dates are the first day of each new calendar quarter. Victoria Club does not currently contribute to this plan for employees. It is a voluntary plan and contributions are for employees only.
Vacation time is per the Employee Handbook; in the first two years of employment Victoria Club employees receive one (1) week of vacation per year, accrued daily. Accrued vacation time is available for use after successful completion of the 90-day probationary period and six months of employment.
Sick pay: Victoria Club’s policy meets or exceeds the guidelines set forth in AB 1522. Full-time, non-exempt (hourly) employees accrue three (3) hours of sick pay per month beginning on date of hire, which can be used after meeting the 90-day probationary period.
NOTICE: The golf club business functions seven days a week, including holidays. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must always be projected.
