Golf Course Superintendent

Golf Course SuperintendentFox Valley Country Club is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and agronomic operations of our private golf course in Lancaster, NY.

This is an excellent opportunity for a superintendent who takes pride in course conditions, enjoys working with a team, and wants to play an important role in the continued improvement of a growing private club.

ResponsibilitiesOversee all daily golf course maintenance and agronomic operationsDevelop and execute seasonal maintenance programs for greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and surrounding groundsEstablish mowing, watering, fertilization, aeration, topdressing, and other maintenance schedulesMonitor turf health, disease, pests, irrigation, and overall course conditionsManage and supervise the grounds maintenance staff, including daily assignments and productivityTrain employees on proper equipment operation, turf management, safety, and maintenance proceduresMaintain and manage the course's irrigation system and coordinate repairs when necessaryOversee chemical and fertilizer applications in accordance with NYS regulationsMaintain accurate records of chemical applications, fertilizer applications, and other agronomic practicesManage the maintenance equipment, including preventative maintenance and repair needsAssist with development and management of the annual maintenance budgetCoordinate with the General Manager and club leadership regarding course conditions, projects, staffing, and capital improvementsWork closely with club leadership to maintain a consistently high-quality playing experience for members and guestsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility and equipment areaBe willing to work hands-on with the grounds crew when neededQualificationsPrevious experience as a Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar golf course management positionStrong knowledge of turfgrass management and golf course agronomyExperience managing and supervising a grounds crewKnowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, irrigation, and integrated pest management practicesNYS Commercial Pesticide Applicator certification or ability to obtain certificationStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to develop and manage a maintenance budgetAbility to operate and maintain golf course maintenance equipmentValid driver's licenseAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsStrong work ethic and attention to detailWhat We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is passionate about golf course conditions and takes ownership of the property.

We are looking for someone who will lead by example, hold the grounds crew accountable, and continuously look for ways to improve the course.

Experience working at a private golf club is preferred but not required.
