Position Title: Shop Helper
Department: Equipment Maintenance / Mechanic Shop
Reports To: Equipment Manager / Assistant Mechanic
Position Summary:The Shop Helper assists the Equipment Manager and mechanics in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment. This position supports the preventive maintenance and repair of golf course equipment, utility vehicles, and tools while ensuring shop safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
Clean and wash golf course maintenance equipment, vehicles, and tools.
Assist mechanics with routine preventive maintenance tasks.
Change oil, filters, grease fittings, and perform basic service work under supervision.
Organize and maintain shop tools, parts inventory, and storage areas.
Receive, stock, and label parts and supplies.
Dispose of waste oil, filters, tires, and other materials according to environmental regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment maintenance.
Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
Valid driver's license preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
Ability to work around machinery, fuels, lubricants, and shop chemicals safely.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
Basic understanding of equipment maintenance principles is desirable.
Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
Working Conditions
Indoor mechanic shop and outdoor golf course maintenance areas.
Exposure to noise, dust, grease, fuel, and varying weather conditions.
May require occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays based on golf course operational needs.

Keep maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs up to date as assigned.
Maintain cleanliness of the mechanic shop, yard, and equipment storage areas.
Assist with equipment setup and transport as needed.
Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform other duties as assigned by the Equipment Manager and Assistant Mechanic.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
