Sod Shop Farms, LLC is a family-owned and operated sod farming business based in Sedgwick, Kansas. We specialize in growing and harvesting top-quality turfgrass for residential, commercial, and athletic customers across Kansas. As an Assistant Farm Manager, you will work closely with our Farm Manager in overseeing daily farm operations, crop production, and crew leadership. You will engage in all phases of sod production, from planting to harvesting, ensuring high turf quality standards are maintained. This active, field-based role requires someone with turf or agricultural experience who enjoys mechanical problem-solving and operating large machinery while working within a close-knit team. You will also assist with field applications, irrigation management, harvesting and distribution operations, equipment maintenance, crew leadership, and recordkeeping tasks. - Agricultural Background with experience in farming, agriculture, or commercial turfgrass/sod production
- Demonstrated experience operating modern farm equipment and maintaining machinery
- Leadership skills in managing and supervising farm hands and seasonal crew members
- Valid driver's license; possession of (or ability to obtain) a Kansas Private Pesticide Applicator license
- Strong work ethic, communication skills, self-motivation, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
